The Retreat From Discipline Into The Arms of Iniquity

We are ALL our own worst enemies at times as we make anti-spiritual and negative choices in life or accept destructive ideologies and thereby hurt ourselves and others. Which is why, in navigating life, Afrikans believed that you had to come under discipleship or initiation into a set of spiritual rituals that would teach you and develop in you the habit of sublimate your desires to a place where they could be controlled and not lead you into negative situations or generate negative energies that would impact yourself and others. The opposite of enslavement to sin is not spiritual and personal anarchy but submission to godly discipline. Most want freedom from sin and bondage to it, but do not wish to submit to what is right, leaving them in an anarchical state of fear and doubt and victimization that is not unlike the bondage they say they want to escape.
