The Dangers of Eurocentric “Comparative Analysis”

If you seek to study someone else’s culture, you have to get past your own cultural biases, otherwise you will always treat other people’s cultures and philosophies and ideas as inferior relative to your own and never really see them as they are and are valued by those peoples. Your analysis then has the goal no longer of understanding others, but of confirming the superiority of your own worldview.
