Returning to the Praxis Question

Afrocentricity for me is problematic because I believe that it tends to substitute ideology and rhetoric for fact at times and paints a picture of moral absolutes in the social world where the historical and empirical record is more complex. The “fact” problem makes it difficult for it to lead to pragmatic social solutions in the real world because one cannot build on mythology or collective desire, but must build with a clear understanding of the real sociocultural context.
