Braggart’s Boast Versus Saint’s Testimony

A braggart’s praise will be confined to those moment’s when they alone have been blessed, attributing the blessing to God’s unique respect for their personage and their supposed desert. A saint’s testimony, in contrast, will praise and preach in times of difficulty where the blessing is not so obvious, in times when others are being blessed, and always founding the praise in either case in God’s undeserved grace for all, with an exhortation element encouraging those in receipt of the message to join in exaltation of the Lord and not of the speaker.
