Religion and Spirituality

Religion is just institutionalized spirituality. A human institution designed as a vehicle for the expression of spirituality. The idea that religion is opposed to spirituality is more Eurocentric philosophy and not ours at all since a majority of our people are spiritual AND religious. Religion is not a “fall.” Institutionalization means GREATER elaboration. For example, moving from itinerant clergy to a professional clerical class. That’s higher cognition not lower in much the same way that an educational system is an improvement structurally over random individual moments of instruction.
